Idea 3 - The Virus (Research - PhoneBooth)

During this process of coming up with this idea our group did some research to find a relevant movie that relates to this idea. We found that the movie 'Phone Booth' linked very closely with our idea because in 'Phone Booth' its the person on the other end of the phone that basically controls the next few hours of the actor Colin Farrell's life and in our movie it will be the virus that controls the students life and also the wholes schools activity and its the virus that puts everyone's life on the balance, just like the person on the other end of Colin Farrell's phone call.

Here we have just briefly brainstormed any ideas we could think off in lessons. If any alterations we will mainly hold a discussion and blog rather than writing it.

Advantages and disadvantages

Tri Pod:The Profil Duo tri-pod used our previous media piece, at the time of production we saw this as an adequate piece of equipment. We are now using a much more capable tripod which gives us more mobility than the previous tripod. we have found this to be the case through various tests, the previous tri-pod wasn't as sturdy and as mobile as  the newer tripod. The new tripod has wheels which give it its increased mobility making smoother movement during filming, the wheels have also allowed us to film different shots and scenes much more effectively again making our production much more interesting.

JVC 1920 FULL HD

Camera: The camera we used in our previous piece was a JVC 1920 Full HD it offered very good picture quality although sound posed to be a weakness to this piece of equipment. There is a stark difference between the newer camera  the Canon T05 7D we will be using in our A2 production. Comparison can be made to the amount of attachments that can be added to the camera as the newer one can have a mic attached to it which would enable us to overcome the sound complications we had with the JVC.
Further comparison can be made in terms of picture quality the Canon T05 7D offers us increased picture quality. Although the JVC had some attachments that did aid our first media piece, the Canon T05 7D offers an array of attachments that we can add to enhance certain aspects during filming. This will result in a media piece that will overall be much more improved due to what can be achieved by using the Canon T05 7D.

New Kit

This is the one of the new pieces of equipment that our group may be using when we start shooting our new film. In one of our media lessons we where introduce to this tripod that is used for the Canon T05 7D camera, which our group may be using for some parts of the shooting during our film production. The advantage this piece of kit will have towards our group is that it will keep the camera stable and secure, and with the addition of moving about in certain angels to create effective camera angels.

Here is the mono-pod. The mono-pod is a piece of kit that has been implemented in our media department over the past year. This kit will be very useful for getting shots from high-angles, as the mono-pod can extend higher than most pieces of equipment used in the media. Our group may consider using this product for high- angle shots on high pieces of equipment such as ladders. 

Following on from this, this piece of the equipment was introduced to our media group last year when we was doing our first short two minute film. We didn't use this piece of equipment as we found it very confusing, but with a demonstration from our media teacher the group feels this piece of kit can be useful. The reason for this, is that it can create very still movements of when someone is walking as this piece of equipment attaches to your shoulders, enabling walking movements to take place or jerky movements; for example someone falling from being punched in the face.
